At a recent free business assistance workshop, hosted by REDC, and sponsored by Provident Bank, (l) Ron Hicks, President & CEO, REDC and (r) Brenda Wiener, Vice President-Team Leader, Commercial Lending Department, Provident Bank, address the audience, while (c) Steve Porath, REDC's Director of Economic Development and Rockland County's Empire Zone Coordinator, discusses its economic development tools.


As part of its continuing effort to focus on Rockland’s community businesses, Rockland Economic Development Corporation (REDC) recently hosted a free business assistance workshop at The Atrium in Monsey. Sponsored by Provident Bank, the event offered local businesses the opportunity to learn more about tax & financial incentives, business financing programs, government contracting, small business loans, access to capital, as well as meet one-on-one with representatives from Rockland County SCORE, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Westchester/Rockland Revolving Loan Program, Rockland County’s Empire Zone Program and the Rockland County Industrial Development Agency (IDA).

Attended by more than 45 local business owners, the event underscored the importance of Rockland’s small and diverse business sector to the health of the local economy.

Ron Hicks, REDC’s President and CEO said, “We feel it’s imperative to provide a concentrated effort with our business partners to communicate the various resources available to Rockland’s businesses. Our commitment to supporting the County’s economic vitality and its diverse business community is a continuing process.”
